There is a pit bull in Santa Barbara named Mason. He is famous for captivating dogs and people alike with his out-sized personality. For the past twelve years he has been a regular at the Douglas Preserve and Elings Park. Recently he lost his big brother to old age and in spite of his wide circle of friends, he became lonely. He is lonely no more! Our lovely Ebony is now his playmate, pal and companion. Her golden eyes will watch over him for all of his days. Mason's mom and dad are great dog people and will take good care of our girl. Happy Tails, Ebony.

Bubba
Bubba has become K-9 PALS' First "Sanctuary Dog". This beloved little dog captured the hearts of many people, but especially his devoted foster mom. Bubba will remain in this very loving home for the rest of his life. A woman who previously adopted a dog from K-9 PALS recently lost him and she was determined to find a new dog in his memory at our shelter. She chose Hacky, drove back home to Santa Ynez to pick up her two other dogs for a meet, and adopted him at the end of the day. Hacky, now Henry, is living happily ever after with his new doggie brothers and adoring new dog mom and dad. Happy Tails to this sweet, gentle boy. |

After a short try at fostering, Shadow's foster family decided it just wasn't going to work. Joining the "foster failure club", she has been adopted into their active, loving household. They have been adopted by a lovely retired couple who live on 10 acres with horses and 4 cats. The husband is especially thrilled with our girls as Nutmeg reminds him of the dog they recently lost and Greta is a "beautiful, feisty German" like his wife! |

Pia had not even settled in yet when a woman friend of a K-9 PALS volunteer saw Pia's website photo with her tongue hanging out...The woman had recently lost her black Cavalier Spaniel after over 15 years together. Fate can be magical. It is how Herbie found his new home. Not only was Herbie's new dad not even looking for a dog so soon after the passing of his ten year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, he certainly wasn't looking for a Pit Bull/Pointer mix. They met by chance on a street near the shelter on Monday. By Friday, they were family. As his new dad says, "this was meant to be." Happy tails to you, Herbie, our gentle giant. |
